BREITLING CHRONOMAT It was the year 1961 when the headquarters of the Italian Air Force decided to form a single acrobatic patrol, the National Acrobatic Pattuglia (National Acrobatic Patrol), with the best men and the best available aircraft, which today is known as the Freece Tricolori one of the best and most numerous acrobatic patrols in the world. In the early 1980s, Breitling was the watch brand chosen to develop a watch that was sufficiently reliable and robust to accompany the Tricolori pilots on flights. This was how in 1983 the Breitling brand presented the new Breitling Chronomat watch, only and exclusively for this patrol, as a tribute to the model I presented in 1952 but aesthetically has nothing to do with it. Breitling took special care to make the Breitling Chronomat especially durable. For example, the box is strong enough to withstand accelerations of up to 20 G. But watch enthusiasts also fell in love with its aesthetic features, its iconic pilot eyelashes, its rounded edges, stylized crowns, ... so the brand taking advantage of its 100th Anniversary launched the new Breitling Chronomat collection in 1984. The contemporary Breitling Chronomat collection has remained faithful to its original design, but it has been gaining in size and technical advances, making it the best automatic chronograph watch adapted to aviators.
